As a faith- and values-based organization, we hire and serve people of all backgrounds and walks of life - there is a place for everyone to belong here.Mission StatementThe Salvation Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.Job Description:Characteristic Job Duties:The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristics: Monitors the activities of the clients/residents and maintains availability for personal, practical and morale support; may include safe storage and recording of prescribed medicationsAccurately records day-to-day happenings using appropriate methods; maintains logbooks and completes occurrence reportsLiaises with referral sources and other external agencies as needed (IE: Welfare, police, urgent situations)Coordinates client care relating to security issues; doing bed checks,ensures adherence to check in times and curfewsMay carry out inspection/security checks of property and grounds in accordance with policies and proceduresHandles the admission, orientation and evaluation of clients' understanding of rules, ensures ongoing enforcement of policies, which may include client disciplineMay handle finances relating to room rentals and meal tickets, receipting of sameMay serve as reception for shelterMay prepare or provide simple meals for clients/residentsPerforms other duties as assignedNote:



Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of dutiesThe above responsibilities must be performed in keeping with The Salvation Army's Mission, Vision and Values, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct. MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL ATTAINED:The successful job applicant will have completed high school.Note: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptableSPECIAL LICENSES, DIPLOMAS, CERTIFICATIONS OR REQUIREMENTS:The successful applicant will hold/have:Addiction Facility – Addictions counselling CoursesSee Precautionary MeasuresMINIMUM PRIOR RELATED EXPERIENCE:The incumbent must have the following experience before hire:More than three months but less than one year of prior related experience, including experience with frontline work in a social services settingPHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED:The performance of the job requires moderate amounts of keyboarding, and performing walk aboutsCONCENTRATION REQUIRED:The performance of the job requires continuously monitoring the environment, monitoring security cameras and attentiveness when interacting with clients and recording information.RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL RESOURCES:The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly or on a relief basis or has responsibility for the wise us of his/her own resources. They may be authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash. The incumbent has very little input into the annual budget.HUMAN RESOURCES:The incumbent is responsible for his/her own time and effort only. They may demonstrate work methods to new employees,
