The Support Worker empowers the client(s) to perform all aspects of daily living as independently as possible,
providing support and intervention where necessaryQualifications:Recent related experience working with the brain injured or other disabled populationCurrent certification and documents in the following areas: emergency first aid or equivalent, CPR level A.Relevant post secondary education or equivalent combination of education, training and experienceProficient in written and spoken EnglishThe use of a personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and other outings.Class 5 BC Drivers LicenseSchedule:Client Sessions are typically between hours, Mon - Fri, and booked between 8 am - 6 pm.The casual Community Support Worker will provide sick and vacation coverage for permanent staff, and may at times be assigned 1 or more consistent client session, however, there are no guaranteed weekly hours.The successful applicant for this position will be required to provide the following documentation:Valid Class 5 BC Drivers License (Class 5 learners, Class 7, and International Drivers Licenses are not acceptable)An acceptable 5 year Driving History Report from ICBCProof of a recent Negative Tuberculosis TestA Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate with CPR Level AProof of any related Diplomas, or other Education CertificatesThe Contact Information for at least 3 employment referencesJob Type: CasualPay: $27.92 per hourBenefits:Adaptable scheduleExperience:Support Worker: 1 year (preferred)Licence/Certification:Class- 5 BC Driver's License (required)Emergency First Aide Certificate (preferred)Work Location: In person
