Senior Technology Specialist / Developer (GIS / ArcGIS Enterprise) Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Technology Specialist / Developer to support a major GIS modernization initiative , migrating and rebuilding business-critical applications from Esri ArcGIS Online to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5 .

This role will play a key part in decommissioning the existing AWS GIS platform while developing modern web and mobile GIS solutions integrated with enterprise systems across the organization.

Contract: 12 months (with possible 12-month extension) Location: Brampton, ON (Hybrid minimum 2 days onsite per week) Start Date: August Work Setting Hybrid work model with a minimum of 2 onsite days per week . 35-hour work week (7 hours/day).

Travel between client''s locations may occasionally be required.

Initial contract through August with a potential 12-month extension Must-Have Qualifications University or college degree in Computer Science or Geography with a post-bachelors certificate or diploma in Application Development, GIS, or a related discipline .

Esri web and mobile application development experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Minimum 5 years of experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to team members .

Expert knowledge and proficiency with many of the following: ArcGIS 10.x/11.x Product Suite Power

Builder Python Arcade Microsoft Visual Studio (C++, VB, C#, ASP.NET) Hands-on experience with: ArcGIS Java

Script API ArcGIS Desktop SDKs ArcGIS Pro 3.x ArcGIS Enterprise 11.x Strong experience with: Java XML, JSON, GeoJSON Java

Script & HTML5 SOAP/REST Web Services Application/Web Servers SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases Deep understanding of: Object-Oriented Design (OOD) Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)



UML Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) Experience integrating complex desktop, web, and enterprise applications.

Knowledge of Agile, SDLC, PMBOK, COBIT, and ITIL methodologies.

Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Mandatory Certifications Candidates must possess both of the following: BA or BSc in Computer Science or Geography Advanced Diploma in Application Development or GIS Failure to provide proof of both qualifications will result in disqualification.

Nice-to-Have Experience with: ArcGIS Online Assistant ArcGIS Enterprise Assistant Survey Experience Builder VertiGIS Web Studio VertiGIS Network Explorer High Availability Cloud Computing in Microsoft Azure.

Azure Dev

Ops experience. MA or MSc in Computer Science or Geography.

Associate or Professional-level Esri certifications.

Microsoft Azure development or administration certification.

Responsibilities GIS Application Migration & Development Lead the migration, redevelopment, testing, and production deployment of GIS applications from ArcGIS Online to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5.

Design and build web and mobile GIS solutions integrated with enterprise platforms including EAM, CRM, and ERP systems.

Develop scalable, high-quality applications using ArcGIS technologies and modern development frameworks.





Support the decommissioning of the existing AWS GIS environment through successful migration activities.

Solution Design & Technical Leadership Design complex software architectures, including front-end, back-end, interfaces, connectivity, and infrastructure components.

Prepare technical recommendations, development estimates, and solution designs for architects and project managers.

Develop shared components and reusable frameworks across development teams.

Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership on complex issues and escalations.

Development & Integration Build applications using ArcGIS Java

Script API, ArcGIS Desktop SDKs, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise technologies.

Develop integrations using Java, Java

Script, XML, JSON, GeoJSON, SOAP/REST APIs, and web services.

Work with SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases and related GIS data structures.

Apply object-oriented design principles and service-oriented architecture best practices.

Testing & Production Support Develop and execute system, integration, and migration test plans.

Prepare implementation, backup, recovery, and technical documentation.

Troubleshoot complex production issues through root cause analysis and permanent resolution.

Ensure production readiness and maintain high-quality deployments.

Continuous Improvement Research industry best practices and recommend improvements to GIS architecture and development processes.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and technical standards.

Maintain expertise in emerging GIS and cloud technologies.

Collaborate effectively with project teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
