Responsibilities Provide a safe, secure, and welcoming setting for patients, families, staff, physicians, volunteers, students, and visitors.

Deliver exceptional customer service byassistingvisitors with wayfinding, information requests, and general inquiries throughout the hospital.

Conduct regular patrols of hospital buildings,heliport,parking areas,tunnels,and surrounding grounds toidentifyand address safety, security, and operational concerns.

Monitor CCTV, access control systems, alarms, and other security technology to detect and respond to incidentsin a timely manner.

Respond to emergencies including Code White, Code Red, Code Silver, medical emergencies, fire alarms, suspicious activity, and other hospital emergency codesin accordance withestablished procedures.

Assistwith providing access control and monitoring for heliport as well asfulfillingduties as per SOPsduring landing and takeoff.

Control access to restricted areas and verify identification and authorization of staff, contractors, patients, and visitors.

Investigate and document security incidents, accidents, injuries, thefts, property damage, and policy violations, preparing detailed andaccuratereports.

Providecustomer service,crisis intervention,andde-escalation support for disruptive, aggressive,



or emotionally distressed individuals using a compassionatetrauma-informed andpatient-centered approach.

Assistclinical staffwithmaintaininga safe care environment while respecting the dignity, privacy, and rights of patients and families.

Coordinate with hospital departments, Toronto Police Service, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire Services asrequiredduring incidents and emergencies.

Monitor visitor screening processes and support the enforcement of hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Assistwith patient watches, high-risk patient monitoring, and missing person investigations asrequired.

Respond to requests forassistanceinvolving workplace violence prevention, personal safety escorts, and security-related concerns.

Maintainaccuraterecords, occurrence reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentationin accordance withhospital and regulatory requirements.

Provide security coverage forspecial events, VIP visits, research facilities, and other sensitive hospital operations.

Support emergency preparedness initiatives, evacuation procedures, and disaster response activities.

Promote a culture of safety, compassion, professionalism, and inclusion consistent withourvalues and commitment to patient and family centredcare.

Requirements Valid Security License for the province of Ontario Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor) Proof of two (2) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and a completed two-step TB skin test Clean shaven face in order to pass an N95 Mask fit test Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants without these certifications may enroll in Paladins UOF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding
