Tasks Assess vehicle auto body repair, maintenance and restoration requirements.

Plan and perform repair work.

Remove dents and replace or repair auto body components, including panels, frames and passenger compartments.

Perform steel and aluminum welding.

Prepare surfaces through sanding, grinding and filing, and apply paint.

Remove and install bumpers, panels, windows, windshields and sunroofs.

Clean and prepare vehicles before and after repairs.

Mix paint and perform colour matching.

Provide professional customer service.

Train and support apprentices.

Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements Recognized auto body repair training, such as a DEP in Auto Body Repair or an equivalent qualification.

At least 5 years of experience in automotive collision repair, particularly with Volkswagen, Dodge, Ford, Subaru, Kia, Honda, Hyundai or GM vehicles.

Experience with steel and aluminum welding, as well as aluminum-body or electric vehicles.

Ability to work with frame-straightening equipment, 3D measuring systems and spot-welding equipment. I-CAR and electric vehicle training are considered solid assets.
