Our client in Ontario is on the lookout for a strategic and independent Payroll Manager ready to elevate their payroll function.

This is a unique opportunity to take payroll to the next level, implementing infrastructure improvements and enhancing reporting for leaders.

You will play a key role in ensuring business efficiency and will be instrumental in expanding the variable pay program.

Responsibilities: Manage the entire payroll cycle for approximately 300 employees in a single jurisdiction.

Own the audit process, compliance, service, and cycle process improvement initiatives.

Implement infrastructure improvements, including better reporting for leaders.

Solve for and expandpay programs.

Oversee the process of system automation, ensuring a robust audit trail.

Act as a backup to the payroll administrator, ensuring continuity and avoiding a single point of failure.

Be service-minded with employees,



providing strategic oversight rather than just processing.

Collaborate with accounting, IT, and other departments.

Qualifications: 7+ years of progressive Canadian full-cycle payroll experience, with accountability for accuracy, compliance and year-end processes, along with demonstrated people leadership, coaching, or formal team-lead experience.

Strategic oversight experience, with a proven ability to identify bottlenecks and streamline processes.

Proficiency with the UKG system is highly desired.

Ability to integrate with Power BI and leverage business analytics.

Strong understanding of HR data, with technical savvy to contribute to future HRIS development.

Exceptional analytical, thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.

Experience leading process improvements and owning compliance and audit functions.
