Job Title: QA Automation Engineer Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid Day 1 Onsite) Experience: 5+ Years Job Summary We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 5+ years of experience in test automation, Java programming, Selenium, mobile automation , and SQL.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test cases for both web and mobile applications to ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium Web

Driver.

Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for mobile applications (Android and iOS) using Appium or similar mobile automation frameworks.

Create and execute functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and mobile test cases.

Develop and enhance automation frameworks following industry best practices for both web and mobile platforms.

Perform web application testing and validate application functionality across different browsers and environments.

Perform mobile application testing across multiple devices, operating systems, and screen sizes.

Write and execute SQL queries for backend/database validation and data integrity testing.

Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to understand requirements and define test strategies.

Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Maintain test documentation, test reports,



and automation execution results.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for QA processes, tools, and methodologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.

Solid hands-on experience with Java programming.

Expertise in Selenium Web

Driver for web UI automation testing.

Hands-on experience with mobile automation using Appium or similar frameworks for Android and iOS applications.

Experience in automating native, hybrid, and/or mobile web applications.

Solid experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.

Strong knowledge of SQL and database testing.

Experience with TestNG, JUnit, or similar testing frameworks.

Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile development methodologies.

Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, ALM, or Azure Dev

Ops.

Familiarity with Android Studio, Xcode, emulators, simulators, and real-device testing is preferred.

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with API testing using Rest Assured, Postman, or similar tools.

Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git

Hub Actions, or Azure Dev

Ops.

Experience integrating mobile automation tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Exposure to performance testing and cloud-based testing environments such as Browser

Stack, Sauce Labs, or Lambda

Test is an advantage. ISTQB or other QA-related certifications are a plus.
