Cloud FinOps Lead

Location: Toronto, ON

Employment Type: Full-Time (FTE) Required Experience

- 8+ years of IT experience with 3+ years in Cloud FinOps / Cloud Cost Optimization
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms
- Robust understanding of FinOps principles, cloud governance, budgeting, and cost management
- Experience collaborating with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Finance, and Business stakeholders

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cloud cost monitoring, reporting, and optimization solutions.
- Analyze cloud spending across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Build interactive cost dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or cloud-native cost management tools.
- Identify underutilized resources and implement cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Configure and manage cloud budgets, cost alerts, forecasting, and spend tracking.
- Automate cloud governance, cost allocation, and tagging policies using Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or Cloud APIs.
- Monitor resource utilization and recommend rightsizing opportunities.
- Implement and maintain tagging standards, chargeback/showback models, and cost allocation frameworks.
- Perform cloud cost trend analysis, forecasting,



and executive-level financial reporting.
- Partner with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Finance, and Business teams to optimize cloud expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with organizational FinOps governance and cloud financial management policies.
- Evaluate new cloud services, pricing models, and optimization opportunities to maximize business value.

Required Skills
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Cloud Cost Management: AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing, CloudHealth, Cloudability, or equivalent
- Reporting & Visualization: Power BI, Tableau
- Automation: Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Cloud APIs
- Cloud Governance: Budgeting, Forecasting, Cost Allocation, Tagging Strategy, Chargeback/Showback
- FinOps: Cloud Financial Management, Cost Optimization, Resource Rightsizing, Governance & Compliance

Preferred Qualifications
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Professional certification
- Experience with enterprise cloud governance frameworks
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
