Job Title: Data Engineering Specialist
Location: Montreal / C te-de-Liesse (Saint-Laurent), QC (Hybrid - In office & Remote mix)
Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)

We are seeking a Data Engineering Specialist (Senior Data Platform Engineer) with strong hands-on coding skills and deep experience in modern data architecture to help shape the future of our industry.
Supported by a culture that fosters flexibility, growth, and technological excellence, you will tackle complex data challenges, lead advancements across functional teams, and design scalable solutions using Microsoft Fabric and medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers). Key Responsibilities Platform Architecture & Data Engineering
Build and maintain scalable data solutions in Microsoft Fabric across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers utilizing enterprise data platform frameworks.
Design, construct, and maintain robust data pipelines using SQL and big data technologies (e.g., PySpark, Kafka, Hadoop).
Develop reliable ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes for diverse data sources, including internal databases, external APIs, and IoT devices.
Support and optimize enterprise data platform infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and backend data solutions for analytics and AI initiatives. Operations, Quality & Delivery
Implement DevOps best practices to optimize and accelerate the CI/CD pipeline and deployment of data solutions.
Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and streamline data delivery workflows.
Ensure all pipelines adhere strictly to data governance, security,
and architectural standards.
Actively monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain high availability. Collaboration & Technical Leadership
Partner closely with product teams, architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and fulfill data platform needs.
Provide technical leadership by reviewing code, mentoring team members, and establishing engineering best practices.
Contribute to cross-functional initiatives across advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI. Qualifications & Key Requirements Must-Have Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
Experience: 6+ years of dedicated experience in data engineering with expert-level proficiency in Python, Spark, SQL, and data structures/algorithms.
Microsoft Fabric: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components, including Lakehouses, OneLake, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, and Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Developer Workflows: Hands-on experience with VS Code, Git, and version control workflows.
Infrastructure & Storage: Applied experience with Terraform as well as Relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB).
Language: Professional fluency in both English and French (Bilingual required). Nice-to-Have Skills:
Workflow orchestration experience using Azure Data Factory or Apache Airflow.
DevOps proficiency using GitHub Actions, ARM templates, and CI/CD automation.
Broader exposure to the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem, including Azure Databricks and Microsoft Purview.
Experience with real-time stream processing (Spark Streaming, Kafka) and Kubernetes.
Power BI proficiency for visualization and reporting integration.
