We have a great opportunity within the Materials Management Department. We are hiring an Inventory Analyst who will report to the Inventory Supervisor
What You Will Do
As the Inventory Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the inventory levels required to maintain the TTC revenue fleets and maintenance operations in support of the total user community base at the TTC. This includes forecasting future needs and planning inventory levels by establishing appropriate ordering levels on a part by part, site by site basis. Utilizing inventory management tools/reports and statistical calculations to meet the business needs for both Planning and Inventory Control and the user community. As well as forecasting long-term inventory supplier blanket contract needs in collaboration with relevant users and submitting to purchasing.
You will work to pre-set service level targets as outlined by the department goals and objectives and will be monitoring inventory performance targets and taking action on: backorders, inventory levels, expediting, obsolescence and inventory projects. You will access, run and review inventory reports to determine validity of requirements and provide recommendations and assistance to user community regarding the same, and resolving problems as required.
The incumbent will work with user community, Quality Control and Engineering personnel, to identify material that does not meet TTC specifications and coordinate with Purchasing and Stores areas for the return and replacement of the material in a timely basis in order to maintain revenue service levels.
You will conduct a complete and thorough review of capital and non-capital project requirements, i.e. validating account information, funding and project quantities and appropriate authorization prior to performing the upload to the Industrial and Financial System (IFS) to ensure inventory requirements are met.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Completion of a Community College Diploma or University Degree in a business or related discipline, combined with minimum two years of work experience in inventory and materials management
- Completion of, or enrollment in the APICS / CPIM accreditation would be an asset.
- Sound knowledge of business administration, financial, and materials and supply chain management principles, methods and practices
- Good knowledge of practices and procedures relating to planning and controlling inventory within the materials management field
- Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and software applications/systems relevant to the work (Microsoft Excel, ERP System (IFS), etc.)
- Must possess well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills as well as robust interpersonal and effective organizational and oral communication and report writing skills.
- Effective interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and influencing skills; demonstrated ability to maintain effective and collaborative work relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong time management; ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a deadline driven environment.
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
