Part-Time Chance with Growth to Full-Time
We are currently seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor to support a busy industrial services operation in the St. John's/Paradise area. This position will initially start at approximately 2 days per week, with the expectation of expanding into a full-time role as operational needs grow. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional looking to establish themselves within a growing organization and build a long-term career.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the company's health, safety, and environmental programs while supporting ongoing COR certification requirements and overall workplace safety initiatives. The role offers potential for permanent employment, expanded responsibilities, and increased earning opportunities as the position develops.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and support company safety programs in accordance with COR standards.
- Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits.
- Lead and facilitate safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Assist with incident reporting and safety documentation.
- Support ongoing health, safety, and environmental compliance initiatives.
- Monitor and promote safe work practices throughout office and industrial operations.
- Assist with safety training and employee awareness programs.
- Maintain safety records, documentation, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with management to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Support additional administrative and compliance functions as the role evolves, including fleet documentation, vehicle registrations, permits, and related regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- HSE Advisor, HSE Officer, OH&S;, or equivalent safety training.
- Knowledge of workplace safety legislation and best practices.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and interact professionally with employees and clients.
Preferred
- COR certification experience.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections and audits.
- Experience in industrial, transportation, construction, or heavy equipment environments.
- Experience managing safety documentation and compliance programs.
- Familiarity with fleet compliance, permits, registrations, and regulatory reporting.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Combination of office and industrial work environments.
- Primarily administrative and safety-focused work.
- Limited physical demands.
- Regular interaction with operational staff and site personnel.
COMPENSATION & GROWTH
- Starting wage: $28.00/hour
- Initial schedule: Approximately 2 days per week.
- Opportunity to transition into a full-time position.
- Potential for permanent hire.

- Steel-toe boots required.
- Basic PPE provided.
