Job Opportunity: Welder / Fabricator

JOB SUMMARY
The Welder / Fabricator is responsible to weld and fabricate a variety of custom orders including truck bodies,
trailers, and enclosures. Fabricators must have experience in MIG and TIG welding processes, the ability to read
blueprints, and have working knowledge in operating fabricating equipment such as a brake and shear. Good
work habits, keen eye for detail and process-oriented skills are required for this position.

LOCATION
Our Surrey, BC plant is centrally located in the Fraser Valley, and we are just South of Highway 10 on the border
of Surrey and Langley.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Demonstrate proper welding techniques for both aluminum and steel

 Fabricate interior and exterior components such as boxes, cabinets, and drawers

 Anticipate material requirements and request them in a timely manner

 Install other components as required, for instance steps, bumpers, or ramps





 Cut and build components as required using fabrication machinery and equipment

 Analyze drawings before building framework, with the understanding that critical thinking is required
as minor mistakes on drawings may occur

GENERAL

 Develop effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors, always treating others with
respect

 Know and apply company safety rules, policies, and relevant occupational health and safety legislation

 Work in a professional and ethical manner

 Use of hand, power and air tools safely and as required

 Provide support for other departments as necessary

 Properly fill out daily time sheets and target hour sheets

 Be receptive to a changing environment and circumstances

 Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience

 Relevant industry experience

 Brake and Shear experience considered an asset

 Solid knowledge of ITB’s products is an asset

Education

 Certified Welders or Metal Fabricators

 Registered Metal Fabricating or Welding Apprentice

WORKING HOURS

 Permanent Full-Time

 Core hours are from 7:00am – 3:30pm
