Position Details
Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/RPN)
Location: Nova Scotia
Specialties Available:
- Emergency Department (ER) Registered Nurse
- Labour & Delivery (L&D;) Registered Nurse
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse
- Medical-Surgical (MS) / Acute Care LPN/RPN
- Long-Term Care (LTC) LPN/RPN
Employment Type: Travel Contract Assignment
Contract Length: Minimum 2-month commitment required, with potential extension opportunities
Start Date: Immediate and ongoing opportunities available
Shift Types: Days, evenings, nights, and weekends based on facility requirements
Compensation:
- Non-Specialty RN: $90.00/hour
- Specialty RN: $102.00/hour
- LPN/RPN: $65.00/hour
Rates are based on specialty, experience, and assignment details.
Travel Support: Accommodation, travel expenses, license reimbursement, stipends, and assignment support available for eligible candidates.

Position Overview
As a Travel Nurse with Augury Healthcare, you will provide safe, high-quality patient care while supporting healthcare teams across Nova Scotia.
You will adapt quickly to new clinical environments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and deliver compassionate care while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Available Roles and Responsibilities
Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ER RN)
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing emergency nursing care to patients with acute and complex conditions
- Completing assessments, triage, and ongoing patient monitoring
- Responding to urgent clinical situations
- Administering medications and treatments safely
- Supporting emergency procedures and interventions
Labour & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D; RN)
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing maternal and newborn nursing care
- Monitoring maternal and fetal health
- Supporting labour, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
- Educating and supporting patients and families
- Collaborating with physicians, midwives, and healthcare teams
Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN)
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing specialized care to critically ill patients
- Monitoring complex patient conditions
- Supporting critical interventions and treatments
- Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
LPN/RPN – Medical-Surgical, Acute Care & Long-Term Care
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing nursing care within LPN/RPN scope of practice
- Supporting patient assessments and care plans
- Administering medications and treatments
- Monitoring changes in patient condition
- Supporting patients and residents with ongoing care needs
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have:
- Current Canadian nursing registration
- Minimum 2–3 years of recent experience in the applicable nursing specialty
- Current required certifications based on specialty:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS where applicable
- CTAS and TNCC preferred for Emergency Department roles
Additional requirements:
- Active Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) registration or willingness to obtain licensure as soon as possible
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills
- Willingness to travel and work in various Nova Scotia communities
Preferred qualifications:
- Rural or isolated community healthcare experience
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Specialty certifications relevant to the assigned role
