Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Underground Scoop Operator to join our dynamic team on a high-profile underground mining project. In this role, you will be responsible for operating underground scoops to efficiently move ore and waste material within the mine. Your expertise in mechanical systems, construction procedures, and safety protocols will be essential to maintaining smooth operations in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent chance to develop your skills in underground mining operations while contributing to a major project utilizing the latest mechanized equipment.

Duties

- Operate underground scoops with precision to transport ore, waste, and materials safely within the mine.
- Conduct routine inspections of scoop equipment to ensure optimal mechanical performance and safety compliance.




- Assist with the setup and breakdown of underground infrastructure, including support systems and ventilation controls.
- Collaborate with other underground personnel to coordinate material movement efficiently and safely.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols diligently, including hazard identification and reporting.
- Maintain accurate logs of material movement, equipment usage, and inspection records.

Qualifications

- Valid Underground Hard Rock Mining Common core in Ontario is preferred;
- 3-7 years of scoop operating experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to be flexible and work in other roles.
- Ability to work in tight, potentially noisy, hot, or dusty underground environments on rotational shifts (e.g., 14 days on / 14 days off FIFO schedules).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test
- Understand and comply with all PPE requirements in work areas

Pay: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
