We are looking for a motivated and results-oriented Sales Representative to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing customer relationships, identifying customer needs, promoting our product portfolio, supporting procurement activities, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure customers receive the right products and services on time.

Position Summary
The Sales Representative will be responsible for generating sales and growing SA Supplies Inc.'s customer base through proactive business development, relationship management, product knowledge, and customer service.
The successful candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities, maintain strong relationships with existing customers, prepare quotations and proposals, negotiate and close sales, and work closely with procurement, warehouse, operations, and project teams to ensure orders and projects are completed efficiently.
The position requires a combination of sales ability, customer service, organization, product knowledge, and commercial awareness.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of SA Supplies Inc.'s products, materials, services, pricing, and value proposition.
- Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities within the construction, renovation, restoration, commercial, and related industries.
- Generate new leads through cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, industry events, online research, and other business development activities.
- Establish contact with prospective customers and determine their purchasing needs and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently follow up with prospective customers.
- Schedule and conduct customer meetings, site visits, product discussions, and sales presentations as required.
- Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, quotations, proposals, and product recommendations.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery requirements, and other commercial conditions within approved company guidelines.
- Convert qualified opportunities into sales and consistently work toward or exceed established sales targets.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales through additional products, complementary products, repeat orders, and cross-selling.
- Monitor outstanding quotations and proactively follow up to maximize conversion opportunities.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with new and existing customers.
- Act as a primary point of contact for assigned customers and ensure their inquiries are addressed promptly.
- Understand customers' businesses, purchasing patterns, upcoming projects, and supply requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to encourage repeat business and identify future opportunities.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and work with internal departments to develop appropriate solutions.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address potential service issues.
- Develop long-term relationships with contractors, project managers, purchasing personnel, trades, and other industry professionals.
Product & Solution Development
- Conduct customer needs assessments to understand project requirements, specifications, budgets, timelines, and purchasing needs.
- Recommend appropriate products and supply solutions based on customer requirements.
- Provide customers with accurate information regarding product availability, specifications, pricing, lead times, and applications.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to identify alternative products when requested products are unavailable or have extended lead times.
- Stay current on SA Supplies Inc.'s product portfolio, new products, supplier offerings, and product developments.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new products and product categories to existing and prospective customers.
Procurement & Supply Support
- Assist with procurement activities related to customer orders and projects.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain pricing, product information, availability, and lead-time information.
- Assist with sourcing materials and identifying competitive supplier options.
- Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse personnel to ensure products are ordered and available as required.
- Monitor purchase orders, customer orders, and delivery schedules as required.
- Assist in identifying procurement opportunities that improve pricing, availability, and customer service.
- Escalate potential supply, pricing, or delivery issues to management in a timely manner.
Project Coordination
- Assist with coordinating customer orders and supply requirements for construction and other projects.
- Review project requirements, schedules, quantities, specifications, and delivery expectations.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure materials are ordered, prepared, and delivered according to customer requirements.
- Communicate project updates and changes to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project-related sales and supply activities and follow up on outstanding items.
- Assist with resolving issues related to product availability, substitutions, deliveries, or project requirements.
Market & Competitive Analysis
- Stay informed about market conditions, industry developments, customer demands, and emerging product categories.
- Monitor competitor products, pricing, services, and market positioning.
- Identify opportunities for SA Supplies Inc. to expand its product offerings and customer base.
- Provide management with feedback regarding customer needs, market conditions, competitive activity, and potential business opportunities.
Sales Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads,
customer interactions, quotations, opportunities, orders, and sales activities in the company's CRM system.
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline and provide regular updates on sales opportunities.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts as required by management.
- Ensure customer information, pricing information, and sales documentation are accurately maintained.
- Follow company procedures relating to pricing, credit, quotations, purchase orders, invoicing, and customer accounts.
- Ensure all sales commitments are properly communicated to the appropriate internal departments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in sales, business development, account management, customer service, or a related commercial role.
- Experience in construction, building materials, restoration, renovation, millwork, contracting, industrial supplies, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and other business development activities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and closing skills.
- Strong understanding of the sales cycle from lead generation through quotation, negotiation, closing, and post-sale relationship management.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, quotations, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using CRM, ERP, or sales management software is an asset.
- Experience with procurement, purchasing, inventory, or project coordination is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation may be required for customer visits, site meetings, and business development activities.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to meet customers, visit job sites, attend meetings, and develop business.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams.
