Overview:

I am seeking a female dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to an individual with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential care and support to an individual with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Responsibilities:

- Assist individual with daily living activities such as household chores, cooking/baking, crafting, bike riding, nature walks, swimming and volunteering on a hobby farm
- Provide emotional support and companionship to the individual in your care as well as engage in meaningful activities with individual, promoting social interaction and mental stimulation
- Driving client to and from scheduled activities and appointments, shopping, volunteer opportunities and any other scheduled activities
- Collaborate and communicate with Family Managed Administrator/Guardian on a daily basis to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Contract overnight respite on weekends at your home once a month may be included
- Communicate/report any changes in individual's health or behavior





- Some flexibility with Guardian's work schedule and having individual at employee's own home on occasion (hours mostly Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm & Fri, 8am-1pm)

Experience:

-Previous experience in education assistant, caregiving, homecare, disability caregiver or related field is preferred
- A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals with disabilities
- A criminal record check before start of position
- Strong communication skills and empathy towards individuals with disabilities

- First Aid Certificate is required (this can done as part of job training if needed)

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Prefer a female worker therefore only females will be considered for the position

-An individual living in close driving distance preferred
