This is a full-time permanent job opportunity working 40 hours a week.

Position Summary
The Engineering Technologist will play a key role in supporting the maintenance, operation, and improvement of building systems across our property portfolio. This role bridges technical expertise and hands-on problem-solving, working closely with maintenance staff, contractors, and management to ensure building infrastructure operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing,
and life safety systems
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring preventive maintenance programs
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation related to building systems and renovations
- Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and deficiency reporting
- Assist with project coordination for repairs, upgrades, and capital improvements
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, inspectors, and internal maintenance teams
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and maintenance documentation
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and system optimization where applicable
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Engineering Technology (Building, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation or eligibility considered an asset
- 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or related field
- Strong understanding of building systems and construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with maintenance or asset management software is an asset
- Solid organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between properties as required
