The position at a glance

The IT Asset Manager will be responsible for managing the IT Asset (ITAM) process across all IT assets, including hardware, software, and cloud resources. This role involves running inventories, implementing controls, drafting ITAM procedures, and delivering a strategic enhancement plan to improve asset tracking, compliance, and cost optimization. The IT Asset Manager will work closely with IT teams, finance, procurement, and compliance stakeholders to ensure accuracy, accountability, and efficiency in asset management.

In detail

IT Asset Management (ITAM) Process

- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive ITAM strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the lifecycle management of all IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
- Ensure compliance with ITAM policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FFIEC handbook).

Inventory and Controls

- Conduct regular IT asset inventories (hardware, software, cloud, and licenses) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Implement automated discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow) to track and manage IT assets.
- Validate asset data against financial records, procurement records, and deployment logs.
- Establish controls and audits to prevent unauthorized asset usage, loss, or theft.

Procedure Development

- Draft and document ITAM procedures, including:
- Asset identification, classification, and documentation.
- Lifecycle management (procurement, deployment, maintenance, retirement).
- Compliance and audit processes.
- Incident and exception handling.

- Ensure procedures are aligned with global policies.

Enhancement Plan

- Assess the current ITAM process to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Develop a strategic enhancement plan to:
- Improve asset tracking accuracy and automation.
- Enhance compliance and audit readiness.
- Optimize cost management and license utilization.
- Integrate ITAM with ITSM, procurement, and finance systems.

- Present the plan to stakeholders and drive implementation in collaboration with IT, finance, and procurement teams.

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration,



or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, or a related role.
- Experience with ITAM tools, CIB referential (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA, GoldenApp, Abacus).
- Professional working proficiency in English language is required
- Knowledge of ITIL, ISO 19770, and ITAM best practices.

- Proficiency in Excel, Macro, PowerBI,
- Familiar with Python coding and AI prompting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to document procedures and create reports.
- Project management skills to drive ITAM enhancements.

- Given the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply. Professional working proficiency in English language is required
