About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dependable, organized and enthusiastic After-School Program Supervisor to lead our new location. The successful candidate will oversee the program’s daily operations while creating a safe, welcoming and enriching environment for school-aged children.

The program will include daily homework support and the LearnStar Innovation Academy, featuring hands-on experiences in STEM and science, art and creativity, innovation and problem-solving, and outdoor recreation.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the safe and effective daily operation of the after-school program.
- Provide leadership, direction and ongoing support to program staff.
- Delegate responsibilities and ensure staff understand and follow program expectations.
- Maintain accurate attendance and ensure children are safely received and dismissed.
- Ensure appropriate supervision and safety procedures are consistently followed.
- Plan and support engaging educational, recreational and enrichment activities.
- Oversee daily homework support and Innovation Academy programming.
- Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, school representatives and LearnStar management.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, concerns and emergencies.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming and positive program setting.




- Assist with program setup, cleanup, supplies and daily routines.
- Ensure LearnStar policies, procedures and expectations are followed.
- Complete required reports and documentation accurately and promptly.

Qualifications

- Previous experience working with school-aged children is required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, professional and able to provide positive leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy after-school environment.
- Current Standard First Aid certification or willingness to obtain the required two-day course before starting.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one before starting.
- Availability Monday to Friday from 1:50 - 6:00 pm (PD/PL Day: 7:30am-6:00pm)
