Summary: Malt & Barley hosts/hostesses ensure the best possible overall guest experience with emphasis on quick, effective, and friendly customer service, engaging customers, and maintaining a clean and orderly working environment.
Hours of work: Will vary. Malt & Barley is a 7-day-a-week operation. This position requires flexible availability and hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedules and hours vary depending on business requirements.
General accountabilities:
- Warmly greet customers as they enter the pub
- Seat customers in bar or restaurant area
- Provide exemplary service to customers
- Maintain a clean and orderly seating area including cleaning tables of all glasses and plates as appropriate, wiping tables after use, picking up food & debris from the floor, etc.
- Clean glasses, utensils, and equipment as needed
- Prepare lemons, limes,
and other beverage garnishes as needed
- Thorouhgly perform all daily and weekly cleaning duties assigned to shift
- Interact with customers
- Take and manage reservations
- Answer the phone - bartender is the first in line (hosts & servers will assist when they can)
- Take and prepare takeout orders, accept payment from customers
Required qualifications:
- Great entry level position with opportunity to grow within the company
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other members of the team and the general public
