Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting our veterinary staff. This position requires a passion for animal welfare, robust communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor and care for animals pre- and post-surgery or treatment.
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals’ health and treatment plans.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
- Assist with the training of new staff members or interns.

Requirements





- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively, including restraint techniques when necessary.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays if required.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.

Pay: $18.25-$21.00 per hour

Experience:

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Veterinary Assistant Certificate (preferred)
