Framing Carpenter New Manufacturing

Responsibilities
- Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or shop drawings to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required
- Prepare layouts and patterns using measuring tools, including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work to measure and mark materials
- Load and unload construction materials and move to appropriate work stations
- Set up and operate woodworking equipment
- Erect walls and roof systems
- Attach previously fabricated walls ceilings and floors together
- Measure and mark surfaces to be covered
- Install sheeting materials including subfloors, wall sheeting and roofing using various materials
- Accurately measure cut and install various flooring, framing and sheeting materials
- Install framing and sheeting materials with air tools, hand tools and glues
- Install flooring materials using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools
- Recognize and identify quality issues in material and building procedures
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- A strong commitment to safety and a safety leader
- Read and interpret blueprints,
drawings and specifications and work from sketches
- Proficient and able to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials required of the trade
- Must be able to work independently or in a group/team setting as an effective learner / listener
- Skilled in the residential construction, repair, restoration and installation techniques for assigned work projects
- Ability to work in a physical demanding position and a fast paced team environment
- Ability to work in an indoor confined work area environment
- Current Fall Arrest certificate would be considered an asset
- Position requires 1 – 2 years work experience within residential construction and renovations
- Indentured in Carpentry Apprenticeship considered an asset
- Experience with crane and rigging operations an asset
- Current Overhead Crane certificate would be considered an asset
- Position requires vehicle to drive to an from Nisku on a daily basis
- Position requires strong English communication skills, including written, spoken and comprehension
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Additional Information
Must have vehicle to commute to Nisku.
Job Type: Full time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
