Warehouse Operations Manager (Kelowna)

Coast Distributors is currently looking for a full time, five days/week, highly motivated, hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager that will be based out of our Kelowna branch located in the Winfield Industrial park. This position will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations relating to shipping, receiving, warehousing, returns, safety and transportation.

The ideal candidate would be a proven leader who is customer focused and energized by driving change and initiatives through process improvement and growth in all areas of warehouse operations, with a strong emphasis on warehouse organization, safety, and cleanliness.

Key duties include, but are not limited to

· Lead and supervise a warehouse team of approximately 7-10 members, totalling 24,000 square feet.

· Collaborate with our sister branches (Nanaimo and Pitt Meadows) in the development and execution of operational policies and procedures.

· Maintain warehouse operation by analyzing process workflow and space requirements.

· Maintain, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures.

· Manage all process related to outbound transportation and movement of product between warehouses including and limited to working with couriers and trucking companies.

· Oversee the maintenance of our truck fleet and warehouse equipment and ensure they comply with all safety and operational guidelines.

· Maintain warehouse design by planning layout, adjusting for seasonal changes, product flow, and product handling systems. Evaluate and recommend new equipment.

· Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and discipline employees as required.



Communicate job expectations, plans, monitor, appraise and complete reviews.

· Maintain, clean, and establish a safe warehouse environment by developing procedures and enforcing standards.

· Liaison with other departments including sales, purchasing, and marketing in the implementation and operations of the warehouse.

· Maintain and manage inventory cycle counts

· Process product returns

· Lead weekly meetings with warehouse staff to maintain communication

· Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets and live documents

· Oversee Receiving department to assist with new product placement and ensure standard compliance

· Able and comfortable with driving larger delivery vehicles (if required). One ton Cube van and 5 ton Hino.

· Willing and open to a flexible work schedule and overtime if the situation presents itself.

Qualifications / Experience

· Minimum of 3 years experience in warehouse management, logistics and/or operations

· Excellent communication and relationship building skills

· Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Specifically Excel) and ability to learn new programs

· Knowledge of health and safety regulations

· Excellent leadership skills, ability to manage and lead teams successfully, building a positive & productive work environment, treating employees fairly while motivating and training to ensure employee morale is high

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Strong problem-solving skills

· Forklift Certified or willingness to become

· Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certified or willingness to become

· First Aid certified or willingness to become
