St. Francis of Assisi Academy in Slave Lake, Alberta is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Success and Off-Campus Education Coach to join our team .

The primary focus of this position is empowering students to overcome barriers, find their individual path, and achieve high school completion . Working closely with students, families, staff, and local partners, you will play a critical role in supporting First Nations, Métis, and Inuit student success, as well as providing targeted guidance to students experiencing academic, personal, or social difficulties in school .

Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas:

- Key Transition Navigation: Assist vulnerable students and their families through vital transition periods—including grade-to-grade progression, junior high to high school, and moving forward into post-secondary or the workforce .

- Off-Campus & Work-Based Learning: Connect students to real-world opportunities by facilitating Work Experience, Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP), Dual Credit, and inclusive community placements .

- Distance Education & Outreach Support: Coordinate distance learning and independent study programs to give students flexible, alternative routes to earning their diploma .

- Community Connection: Act as a bridge between the school, local Indigenous communities, and outside agencies to showcase opportunities,



build career networks, and coordinate support services .

- School & Faith Community Life: Be an active, visible mentor in the school community by attending school celebrations, masses, Open Houses, and Faith Development Days .

Desirable Attributes & Qualifications:

- Education: High School Diploma is required . A completed Post-Secondary Diploma, Certificate, or Degree (or equivalency) is preferred .

- Targeted Experience: Prior experience or training working with youth, at-risk students, or within First Nations, Métis, and Inuit community contexts is considered a robust asset .

- Licensing & Travel: Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle for off-campus visits and community outreach .

- Certifications: Standard First Aid Certificate and Occupational Health & Safety training are preferred .

- Division Alignment: Commitment to following the regulations, standards, and policies set forth by Alberta Education and Living Waters Catholic Separate School Division .

- Background Check: Satisfactory Criminal Record Check .

This position is 3 hours per day with a tentative schedule of 9:00- noon (times may be flexible).
