Job Overview

The Stewards’s role is of crucial importance to the overall experience of the journeyers. Stewards are the first person the journeyer meets when they enter the ship and the last person the journeyer see's when they leave, making our first and lasting impression. Stewards are the face and representative of the brand!

The Othership Steward is an individual who understands and embodies the Othership vision and core values. Stewards fit into a healthy, mindfulness driven environment, are personable, passionate, accountable and possesses a positive, encouraging and warm demeanour. The Steward is highly professional and possess leadership qualities within in their community.

The Front Desk Steward is responsible for managing multiple customer service aspects of the business; they are responsible for welcoming and checking in journeyers and overseeing the flow of the journeyers throughout the space, oversee the needs and operations of the facility, provide support to sauna guides and deckhands (cleaning support team) and are able to remain calm and organized in a fast paced environment.

Part-time opportunities available. Evening and weekend availability required. Key holder responsibilities.

Responsibilities

- Being the face of Othership by embodying our core values through communicating with enthusiasm, empathy, respect and kindness to our journeyers and patrons, always with a consistent and solid expression of the highest customer service.
- Offering thoughtful, clear communications with operations manager, fellow management colleagues, guides and cleaning support team.
- Is knowledgeable and upholds an awareness of the mission, core values and culture of Othership.
- Reports to operations manager: customer service needs, client account issues, sales reports, cleaning support needs including; regular inventory reporting, studio maintenance issues and any operational needs.
- Responsible for managing all customer service needs: checking in journeyers, answering multitudes of phone calls + email inquiries. Engages in our discord channels, offers journeyer relationship development and offers proactive solutions for journeyer needs and complaints.
- Responsible for managing Mariana Tek (database software); manages and oversees class sign-in and attendance, sales and booking services.



Keeps journeyer accounts accurate and up to date; manages membership contracts; cancellations and collects overdue accounts.
- Responsible for managing the reception desk: cultivates and builds community in all interactions through developing journeyer relationships; takes ownership of the journeyer experience; drives sales; has knowledge of the ship, all programming, promotions and sales.
- Responsible for overseeing and maintaining facility operations: regular circulation of all areas to ensure proper organization and cleanliness; front desk, change rooms, maintaining tea room, sauna + ice bath maintenance, washrooms and staff/storage room, laundry, retail and organizes lost-and-found items.

Physical Requirements

- Able to work on your feet for 8 hours
- Able to move, pull carry or lift 20 pounds
- Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, climb and stand for long durations of time
- Able to work in an environment with large temperature variations

Qualifications

- Must be available to work 2-3 shifts per week; ability to work a flexible schedule including, early mornings, late nights, weekends and some holidays (open year round).
- Has an understanding of the lifestyle and a passion for growing the Othership community.
- Customer focused: Serving with empathy, kindness, patience and support.
- Uses the practices (sauna + Ice bath + breathwork + mindfulness)
- Personally committed to continuous improvement and development
- Outgoing, empathetic and friendly personality with a strong ability to connect with others.
- Strong work ethic and habits including reliability, punctuality, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced environment; communicates clearly, is a self-starter and team player.
- Willingness to gain understanding and familiarity with the classes and programming offered at Othership
- Proficiency with computers, Mariana Tek (client booking software) and Notion.




- Previous customer service, administrative and management experience required; fitness, wellness industry and sales experience preferred.
- Must have the proven ability to drive revenue, possess excellent time management, organizational and follow-up skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.60-$25.00 per hour
