Position: Machine Shop Attendant / Junior Designer

Location: Mississauga, ON
Pay: $20.00/hour
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime: Flexibility to work until approximately 4:30–5:00 PM when required

Position Summary

This is a hybrid position combining hands-on machine shop work with mechanical design responsibilities. The successful candidate will work directly within the machine shop while also assisting with drawings, designs and CAD-related work. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, and have education or experience related to mechanical design, CAD, engineering or manufacturing. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both sides of manufacturing — designing components or products on the computer and working hands-on within the machine shop environment.

Requirements

- Education or training in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, CAD, Manufacturing or a related technical field




- Experience or working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD/design software
- Ability to create and modify basic 2D and/or 3D designs and drawings
- Comfortable performing both hands-on machine shop work and design/CAD work
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, dimensions and specifications
- Mechanically inclined with good technical aptitude
- Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment is an asset
- Previous machine shop or manufacturing experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Willingness to learn different aspects of the manufacturing and design process
- Reliable with a robust work ethic
- Must be available Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Must have flexibility to work overtime until approximately 4:30–5:00 PM when required

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
