Connex Personnel is currently seeking a Transmission Engineer to join our client’s Regulated Engineering Services team. The individual would support the execution of Capital and Operating projects for assets throughout Newfoundland.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The position will work within the Transmission & Distribution Engineering group to help execute projects within the Regulated portfolio. The individual will be required to complete various technical engineering analysis of new or existing Transmission Line Infrastructure using PLS Cadd as required. Individuals demonstrating solid experience and a sound understanding of this software and its utilization for Transmission Line Design are preferred for this position and would be considered an asset to the organization. The work for this position will also include performing all aspects of project execution from the conceptual stage, prefeasibility studies through to final design and project development. The successful candidate will be required to prepare budget estimates, work orders, material and equipment orders and contract documents. Work will also include evaluation and recommendation for contract awards and performance of construction management duties for assigned projects including safety and environmental coordination. In addition to ongoing capital projects, the successful candidate will review and support the development of capital budget applications,



while coordinating with a multi-discipline team to perform estimates and develop the technical justification for proposed work for regulated infrastructure.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Graduation from a recognized university with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil or Electrical) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience since graduation;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the utility industry;
- Membership in the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) as a professional engineer;
- Experience in the use of PLS Cadd Software Suite including PLS Cadd, PLS Pole and PLS Tower.
- Proven and demonstrated communication skills;
- Ability to thrive as a participant within a multi-discipline team of both internal and external resources;
- Relevant experience in design, implementation and troubleshooting;
- Experience in developing and managing engineering consultant contracts;
- Experience in developing and managing construction contracts;
- Experience in engineering project estimates.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm

Location: Head office in St. John’s, NL with periodic travel within Newfoundland and Labrador

Anticipated Start Date: Oct 1, 2026

Anticipated End Date: Oct 1, 2027 *with the possibility of annual extensions for up to 4 years
