As part of its continued growth and focus on operational reliability, the company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join its manufacturing team.

The Chance

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, production continuity and a safe working workplace.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising skilled trades personnel and contractors while partnering closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance Planning and Procurement to prioritize maintenance activities, resolve equipment issues and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Reliability

- Plan, prioritize and coordinate daily maintenance activities to support safe and efficient plant operations.
- Assign work to maintenance personnel and contractors while ensuring resources are effectively utilized.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure maintenance schedules are consistently executed.
- Coordinate and follow up on emergency and unplanned equipment breakdowns, ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to established standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production-related issues and implement timely corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance practices, operating costs and overall plant performance.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Maintenance Planning to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.

Leadership & Team Management

- Lead, coach and supervise a team of skilled trades employees.
- Provide direction, performance feedback, training and development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and accountable team environment.




- Promote effective labour-management relationships and ensure compliance with applicable collective agreement requirements.
- Address performance, attendance and safety matters in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.

Health & Safety

- Champion a strong safety culture and lead by example.
- Ensure maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with company safety policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
- Identify workplace hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented.
- Support safety audits, training and incident prevention initiatives.
- Take appropriate corrective action when unsafe conditions or behaviours are identified.

Contractors & Compliance

- Coordinate and oversee contractors performing installation, modification, repair and maintenance activities.
- Ensure contractors comply with plant policies, safety procedures and contractual requirements.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable legislation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety requirements and company standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Act as a key liaison between Maintenance, Production and Engineering.
- Ensure maintenance priorities are aligned with production requirements.
- Communicate equipment issues, maintenance priorities and resource requirements to appropriate stakeholders.
- Support plant change management and purchasing processes, including obtaining required approvals.

Budget & Maintenance Systems

- Support the management of the maintenance department budget and monitor expenditures against plan.
- Track and report maintenance costs using SAP and/or a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Manage work plans, purchase orders, equipment records and bills of materials within the maintenance system.
- Ensure maintenance resources,



materials and labour are used effectively.

What You Bring

- College diploma, university degree or recognized trades certification; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3–5 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing or processing environment, preferably within a unionized facility.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical, controls, mechanical or related maintenance disciplines.
- Experience leading and supervising skilled trades teams.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and/or predictive maintenance programs.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets and operating within established plans.
- Strong understanding of industrial processing and manufacturing environments.
- Experience with high-speed production and packaging equipment is highly desirable.
- Food or dairy processing experience is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with SAP and/or CMMS platforms such as Maximo, including work orders, work plans, purchase orders and equipment/BOM records.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build relationships and drive accountability.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business and maintenance systems.

Pay: $78,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
