Our client is seeking a Storekeeper / Shipping & Receiving professional to support warehouse operations by handling inventory, receiving and shipping materials, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
What's the Job?
- Inspect and accept incoming shipments against supplier packing lists.
- Ensure materials and products are received in satisfactory condition.
- Complete material fulfillment requests for operational divisions.
- Perform receiving, storing, labeling, picking, packing, issuing, and disposal of inventory items.
- Verify supplier deliveries against packing lists and purchase orders, reporting discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure outgoing shipments are properly packed with accurate documentation.
- Support inventory control through cycle counting and periodic physical inventory counts.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
- Assist with kitting, Kanban replenishment, and other materials management initiatives.
- Investigate and help resolve inventory and warehouse-related issues.
- Improve warehouse efficiency and safety through optimized bin locations.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after completing required training and certification.
- Follow all applicable company policies, including Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What's Needed?
- Previous shipping and receiving experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately verify shipments and inventory records.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
- Willingness to learn and follow established procedures and standards.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check.
- Successful completion of drug testing and fit testing requirements.
- Forklift experience is an asset; training and certification may be required.
