Role Overview

Golden City Supply Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our growing team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting management with timely financial reporting and analysis. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls while contributing to the company’s financial health and continued growth.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced business environment. Experience with inventory accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and ERP systems is considered a strong asset.

Job Description

- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting working papers.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management and financial planning.
- Reconcile inventory, cost of goods sold, and inventory-related accounts while supporting inventory valuation and costing.
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns and other required government remittances.
- Process payroll or coordinate payroll administration, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting,



and financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
- Review and improve accounting procedures and internal processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Support ERP and accounting system maintenance, including data integrity and financial reporting.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in wholesale, retail, distribution, manufacturing, or inventory-based businesses.

Knowledge & Skills

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team setting.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
