Job Summary

A&W; Restaurants in Red Deer are looking for an energetic, outgoing, and relationship-driven Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator to help grow our restaurants throughout the Red Deer community.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, supporting local organizations, planning events, and helping grow a well-known Canadian brand. The successful candidate will play an important role in increasing restaurant sales through community partnerships, local marketing initiatives, catering growth, and memorable guest experiences.

Working alongside our leadership team, you will help strengthen our presence throughout Red Deer by building relationships with schools, businesses, sports teams, charities, healthcare organizations, and community groups.

Key ResponsibilitiesCommunity Outreach & Partnerships

- Build strong relationships with local schools, businesses, sports organizations, healthcare facilities, charities, and community groups.
- Identify opportunities for sponsorships, fundraising events, community partnerships, and local involvement.
- Represent A&W; at community events, networking opportunities, and promotional activities.
- Coordinate donations, gift card requests, food sponsorships, and community outreach initiatives.
- Develop long-term relationships that increase awareness of our restaurants.

Sales Growth & Catering Development

- Identify opportunities to increase catering and large group orders.
- Promote A&W; catering to local businesses, offices, schools, sports teams, hospitals, and community organizations.
- Organize food sampling events and promotional visits throughout Red Deer.
- Follow up with catering customers to build repeat business and long-term relationships.
- Generate new sales opportunities through proactive community engagement.

Events & Restaurant Promotions





- Plan and coordinate in-restaurant events, family nights, fundraising nights, grand openings, and seasonal promotions.
- Assist with organizing community activations that increase restaurant traffic and guest engagement.
- Coordinate event logistics, promotional materials, and team support.
- Help create memorable guest experiences that encourage repeat visits.

Marketing & Brand Awareness

- Work alongside our marketing team to support local marketing campaigns.
- Capture photos and videos highlighting our team, guests, restaurant culture, and community involvement.
- Assist with creating content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Help promote new menu items, limited-time offers, and community initiatives.
- Ensure all marketing materials align with A&W; brand standards.

Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintain records of community partnerships, sponsorships, marketing initiatives, and event activities.
- Track the success of marketing campaigns and community outreach efforts.
- Manage promotional materials, event inventory, and marketing supplies.
- Prepare reports on community engagement activities and sales initiatives.

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, sales, event planning, marketing, or community engagement is preferred but not required.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with excellent time management abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.




- Comfortable networking and building relationships throughout the community.
- Creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Canva, social media platforms, photography, or video editing is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The successful candidate must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events, promotions, and restaurant activations.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
