The shipper/receiver ensures seamless processing of outgoing international & domestic shipments and incoming items. The shipper/receiver understands the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of incoming and outgoing items. Vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.
Other duties may include the assembly and function testing of finished product prior to shipment to facilitate in assisting the Assembly Department, Assist in Stamping and phosphating and Ensuring accurate and on time deliveries for all orders.
The use of various hand tools, machinery and equipment will be required to assemble products.
Will be trained to read and understand work orders and other written instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain filing of shipping documents
- Prepare and schedule shipments as assigned
- Schedule daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers
- Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries
- Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required
- Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations
- General Shipping and Receiving duties
- Following up of orders ensuring on time deliveries
- Sort and distribute incoming shipments, placing away stock as required.
- Assist the order management team and inventory as required.
- Assist in processing all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking, included the processing of International documents such as CUSMA's, Commercial Invoices and any other required documents.
- Ordering Shipping Supplies as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Overtime as needed
Job Qualifications:
· Must have working experience in International Shipping role
· Mechanically inclined
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Knowledge of filling out waybills, bills of landing and international documents
· Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
· Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
· Computer Literate
· Able to drive a forklift
