Kitchen Designer & Cabinet Technician

Overview

We are seeking a talented, creative, and technically skilled Kitchen Designer & Cabinet Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience not only in kitchen design, but also in cabinetry construction, production methods, materials, and installation processes.

This position requires a deep understanding of how cabinets are built, manufactured, assembled, and installed. The designs must not only look exceptional, but also be technically correct, production-ready, and practical for manufacturing and installation.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Collaborate with clients to determine their requirements, preferences, functionality needs, and budget constraints.
- Create highly detailed and technically accurate production drawings for kitchens and custom millwork areas, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D renderings where required.
- Prepare drawings that are fully ready for manufacturing, CNC production, and installation.
- Develop cabinetry layouts with strong understanding of cabinet construction methods, fillers, gables, scribes, valances, toe kicks, appliance panels, crown details, hardware clearances, and installation requirements.
- Coordinate designs with site conditions, appliances, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and other trades.
- Review designs from a manufacturing and installation perspective to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and functionality.
- Select appropriate materials, hardware, and finishes while understanding their manufacturing limitations and installation requirements.
- Work closely with production staff, installers, and vendors to ensure projects are completed correctly.
- Understand cabinet assembly methods, material applications, hardware systems, drawer systems, and production workflows.
- Stay updated on industry trends, cabinet manufacturing methods, materials, and hardware innovations.

Experience & Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Kitchen Designer, Cabinet Technician, Millwork Designer,



or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Experience with SketchUp, Revit, or similar software is considered an asset.
- Strong technical knowledge of cabinetry construction and millwork production processes.
- Understanding of cabinet manufacturing, CNC production, assembly, and installation methods.
- Ability to create detailed and production-ready shop drawings.
- Strong understanding of materials, hardware applications, and construction detailing.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Required Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD (SketchUp & Revit beneficial).
- Strong technical drafting and detailing skills.
- Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction and millwork detailing.
- Strong understanding of cabinet installation methods and production processes.
- Strong knowledge of materials, hardware, and manufacturing limitations.
- Ability to prepare accurate production-ready drawings.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
