We are an in-home tutoring centre currently seeking a strong writing instructor to join our team.
Position Overview
We are looking for a teacher who specializes in teaching writing to students from Grade 3 to Grade 9. The ideal candidate is confident in teaching various writing genres and can help students develop structured, logical, and well-developed writing skills.
Required Expertise
The tutor should be familiar with:
- Persuasive Writing
- Narrative Writing
- Expository Writing
- Creative Writing
- Paragraph & Essay Structure
- Thesis development & supporting evidence
- Editing and revision skills
Experience aligning with Ontario curriculum expectations is an asset.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students
- Strong understanding of academic writing structure
- Ability to scaffold writing instruction based on student level
- Responsible, punctual, and patient
- Comfortable providing in-home tutoring
- Teachers living in Markham are preferred
Compensation
- $30 per hour
- Flexible scheduling
- Part-time position
