We are seeking a motivated Junior Infrastructure Automation / DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will learn and support our transition toward modern Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automated workflows while getting hands-on experience with enterprise hardware and virtualization platforms.
If you understand the concepts of IaC, love writing scripts to automate repetitive tasks, and are eager to grow your skills in Terraform, Ansible, and virtualized systems (VMware, UCS, Oracle KVM), this is an ideal role to launch your career.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Infrastructure Automation:

- Assist in writing and maintaining basic Terraform modules to provision compute and network resources.
- Learn, write, and execute Ansible playbooks and roles for standard software installations, configuration management, and patching.
- Work with senior engineers to identify manual, repetitive operational tasks and automate them.
- Write and maintain functional scripts using Bash, Python, or PowerShell for system administration and operational routines.
- Help troubleshoot basic infrastructure issues alongside senior team members and document resolution steps.

Compute & Virtualization Support:

- Hands-on exposure to enterprise virtualization platforms, assisting with basic tasks in VMware (vSphere/vCenter) and Oracle KVM.
- Monitor and support server hardware management systems like Cisco UCS.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role





2-3 years of operational experience or solid conceptual knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.
Terraform: Proven experience writing modules, managing state files, and provisioning compute/network resources.
Ansible: Hands-on experience developing Ansible playbooks, roles, and inventory systems for configuration management.'
Practical working knowledge of VMware vSphere/vCenter.
Exposure to Cisco UCS hardware management and service profiles.
Familiarity with Oracle KVM or enterprise Linux virtualization setups.
Strong fundamentals in Linux (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and/or Windows Server operating systems.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000-$100,000. This role is a future opportunity.
