Casual Hotshot Driver – Class 5, Flat Deck (Edmonton)

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Transformative Shipping Solutions is looking for a casual Class 5 hotshot driver.

We're a family-owned hotshot and flat deck carrier based in Sturgeon County, just north of Edmonton. We own our trucks and we maintain them ourselves. We don't broker loads and we don't subcontract — every job that goes out is on our equipment, with our driver.

This is casual, on-call work with potential for full time. When a load comes in and we need a second truck moving, we call you. Some weeks that's a couple of runs, some weeks it's 5-7 calls.

What the job looks like

- Hotshot and flat deck freight across Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan
- Rebar, Pre fabed Steel & Piping, Fiberglass Piping, scaffolding, Equipment, Oilfield tools,
- Mostly same-day and next-day urgent runs
- Load securement and tarping on most loads
- Construction sites and oilfield locations
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections, logs and delivery paperwork

The equipment

2023 Ford F-350 dual rear wheel with a 40ft gooseneck flat deck, 23,000 lb capacity. Newer truck, well maintained, and it gets fixed the day something goes wrong.

Requirements

- Valid Alberta Class 5 licence
- Minimum 2 years hotshot or flat deck experience
- Experience pulling a gooseneck flat deck trailer
- Clean current commercial driver's abstract — required with your application
- Load securement and tarping done properly, in any weather
- Comfortable on BC mountain highway
- Reachable by phone and able to take a run on short notice- Must be 30 - 50 Years of age

Certifications

H2S Alive, First Aid, TDG, WHMIS and CSO are needed for oilfield site access.
