Mira Facilitation Center provides tailored supports within a nurturing environment to assist individuals with developmental disabilities to strive towards goals that matter to them.

We are seeking a Community Disability Support Worker who shares our passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others!

Hours: Three (3) 24-hour units per month, scheduled in advance and in coordination with the successful candidate’s opportunity for availability input, shifts may begin on Friday or Saturday, some flexibility in start/end times, potential for occasional extra units with advance notice and scheduling

Rate of Pay: To be discussed during pre-screen

Location: South Edmonton, Alberta

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:

- Providing direct support to an Individual with developmental disabilities within your home and out in the community

- Facilitating community access, participation and inclusion for the Individual

- Preparing nutritious meals

- Administering medication

- Completing documentation and reports in a timely manner





- Ensuring secure transportation to community outings

- Completing all mandatory trainings (Abuse Prevention & Response, Best Practices, Medication Assistance, Mandt, Universal Precautions, Food Safety)

Qualifications and Requirements:

- A high school diploma

- Post-Secondary certificate, diploma or degree in a related field is an asset

- 6 months+ related experience is an asset

- Clean Police Information Check & Vulnerable Sector Check from within the last 6 months, for all adults living in the home

- Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C

- A home inspection will be conducted prior to confirming employment

- Private space for the Individual to sleep

- Minimum 1 year with a Class 5 Canadian Driver’s License

- Access to a reliable vehicle

Experience:

- related: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 5 Canadian Driver's License (preferred)
