Role Overview

We are hiring an Overnight Dispatcher to support our City Operations team. This is a hands-on position focused primarily on dispatching and managing City drivers throughout the overnight shift.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, communicating with drivers, managing changing priorities, and resolving operational issues throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispatch and manage City drivers throughout the overnight shift
- Communicate with drivers by phone and Samsara
- Schedule pickups and deliveries and update the TMS
- Track trucks, loads, trailers, and yard activity
- Track & trace shipments and maintain accurate ETAs/ETDs
- Manage customer portals and provide real-time updates
- Resolve service issues, delays, breakdowns, and missed appointments




- Complete driver trips and maintain accurate order entry
- Coordinate with customers, brokers, terminals, and internal teams
- Clear and manage cross-border shipments, including customs issues and documentation
- Complete overnight yard and equipment checks as required
- Provide a clear handoff to the morning dispatch team

Requirements

- 2+ years of FTL dispatch experience preferred
- Robust City/Local dispatch experience
- Must understand Canada–USA cross-border shipments and customs clearance
- Strong knowledge of GTA and surrounding markets
- Experience with Fleet Manager, Excel, Outlook, Samsara, or similar systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to multitask and work independently
- Calm under pressure, accountable, and detail-oriented
- Willingness to take ownership of the overnight operation
