Job Description: Behaviour Therapist

Empower Behaviour Consulting provides compassionate, neuroaffirming behaviour therapy and ABA services for autistic children and their families in Saskatoon and area. Led by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), we offer individualized behaviour therapy, behaviour consultation, parent coaching, caregiver support, and school collaboration tailored to each child's strengths, communication style, and goals. Our approach is collaborative, relationship-based, and focused on helping children build independence, confidence, and everyday skills.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Behaviour Therapist to provide one-to-one support to autistic children, youth, and those with other developmental support needs. Working under a supervising Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, the Behaviour Therapist will implement individualized, strengths-based support plans using ABA principles to build communication, social, academic, and daily living skills in ways that respect each client's autonomy and communication style.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver individualized sessions based on collaboratively developed plans in clinic, home, or school settings.
- Use play as a primary teaching context, following the client's lead and interests to build skills naturally.
- Collect accurate session data and complete documentation on progress toward client-centred goals.




- Respond to behaviours of concern with curiosity and patience, understanding them as communication and using co-regulation strategies to support the child.
- Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and clients themselves on programming decisions and updates.
- Provide parent/caregiver coaching on affirming, respectful behaviour-support strategies.
- Keep supervisors regularly updated on client progress and any concerns.

Qualifications & Skills

- Diploma/bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Child and Youth Care, Behavioural Sciences, or related field is an asset.
- Experience working with neurodivergent children in educational, clinical, or therapeutic settings.
- Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) principles or special education principles is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent rapport-building skills to foster trusting relationships with clients and families.
- Committed to ethical, culturally sensitive, client-directed care and ongoing learning.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks.
