Facility Manager - Enderby & District Curling Club
ABOUT THE CLUB
The Enderby & District Curling Club is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization with approximately 150 members. The Club operates league curling Monday through Friday from October to March and hosts bonspiels, rentals, and community events throughout the season.
The Club is inviting applications for a Facility Manager under an independent contractor agreement for a six-month term from September 2026 to March 2027. This is not anticipated to be a daily position; the Facility Manager will determine the time required to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
This new contract role is well suited to an individual who takes pride in maintaining a community facility and is committed to keeping it secure, well maintained, welcoming, and continuously improving.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A hands-on, reliable individual who takes initiative, recognizes areas requiring attention, and follows through effectively.
- Experience or comfort with basic facility maintenance, minor repairs, and routine upkeep.
- A responsive contractor who is available during the curling season, particularly for rental bookings, Monday inspections, and facility access requirements.
- Availability for security callouts and support related to facility rentals, as required.
- No specific certifications are required.
POSITION SUMMARY
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, safety, and presentation of the Curling Club’s entryway and upstairs facilities.
- Support the Club in maintaining a safe, clean, welcoming, and efficiently operated workplace for members, guests, leagues, bonspiels, rentals, and community events.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors, volunteers, contractors, and service providers to maintain the building and equipment and support the Club’s strategic goals.
- Manage a small Pro Shop with an annual budget of $2,500, including inventory selection and ordering, stock level maintenance, and preparation of a price list for the Bar Manager’s point-of-sale use.
- Compensation will be negotiated prior to engagement. Applicants should state in their applications an hourly rate they feel they would need to fulfill the requirements of this position.
