Job Overview
We are recruiting a Dozer Operator with experience in reclamation. This role involves stripping overburden, ripping, placing topsoil and other reclamation activities. Experience in heavy civil earthworks construction, mining or oilfield maintenance services is preferred. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with construction teams, with a focus on adhering to project specifications and safety regulations. The role requires a good understanding of construction operations, physical stamina, and the ability to interpret site plans.
Responsibilities
- Operate a dozer to complete reclamation, lease building, road construction, and heavy civil earthworks projects.
- Perform stripping of overburden, ripping, topsoil placement, final grading, and other reclamation activities.
- Construct and maintain lease sites, access roads, and related infrastructure.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine equipment checks to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
- Operate equipment safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively with ground crews using verbal communication and hand signals.
- Identify and report equipment defects, hazards, or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work workplace while complying with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Complete required documentation, inspections, and equipment reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating a dozer on reclamation, lease construction,
and road-building projects.
- Experience in heavy civil earthworks, construction, mining, and/or oilfield maintenance services.
- Proven experience with stripping overburden, ripping, topsoil placement, lease building, and reclamation work.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, road construction, grading, and earthmoving operations.
- Ability to interpret site plans, grades, and project specifications.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in a variety of working conditions.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must be physically fit and capable of meeting the demands of the position.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, including cannabis.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
