Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety at our child care centre after hours, ensuring a welcoming environment for clients and staff. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where attention to detail, reliability, and excellent customer service are valued. Prior custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate. The position requires strong communication skills, effective time management, and physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and the use of various cleaning tools.

Responsibilities

- Perform thorough cleaning of our child care centre using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and custodial equipment to maintain cleanliness standards
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks related to facilities upkeep and minor repairs when necessary
- Ensure all areas are sanitized, organized, and free of hazards to promote safety and hygiene for children, families and staff
- Manage cleaning schedules efficiently to meet deadlines without disrupting daily operations




- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding cleaning needs or issues
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client requests promptly and professionally
- Use time management skills to prioritize tasks and maximize productivity throughout shifts

Experience

- Prior custodial or commercial cleaning experience is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic facilities maintenance is a plus
- Experience in customer service roles can enhance communication with clients and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily duties, demonstrating physical stamina and strength
- Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating tasks and ensuring high standards of cleanliness
- Proven ability to manage time effectively in fast-paced environments
