Summary

In this role, you will do more than just balance books, you will help us build systems and technologies, guide a growing team, and keep our financial engine running smoothly. You will oversee our AR and AP team, helping to streamline processes and support day-to-day operations while working with our Controller on everything from financial reporting to forecasting and beyond.

This is a great chance for someone starting the CPA program, or if you’re currently enrolled it will be an asset. Experience helping to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and contribute to team success, is also an asset. But most of all, we're looking for someone who loves what they do and wants to grow with us.

Key Responsibilities of this role

- Prepare and review account schedules, financial statements, and working papers
- Spot issues, find solutions, and recommend smart improvements
- Oversee general accounting and day-to-day general ledgers
- Collaborate and support the AR/AP team with mentorship and backup support
- Assist the Controller with reporting, payroll, budgeting, and analysis
- Bring insights to the table including costing, forecasting, budgeting, and more
- Help improve accounting systems and financial reporting tools
- Tackle reconciliations, government remittances (GST/HST), and ad-hoc reporting
- Present financial info in a way that makes sense to non-finance folks

Education and Qualifications

- A degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- 1-2 years of experience with GL accounting




- Strong leadership skills and experience guiding a team
- Intermediate to Advanced MS365 Office specifically Excel formulas, pivot tables
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and great with spreadsheets
- Willingness to pitch in when needed

Compensation and Advantages

- The salary range for this position is $65,000-80,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience
