This is a local, full-time, site-based role. Candidates must be based in Edmonton or the surrounding area.

As our project volume continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to lead the on-site execution of our residential infill and multi-family projects.

This is a hands-on field leadership role for someone who takes ownership of site activities, trade coordination, scheduling, quality, safety, inspections, and problem-solving from mobilization through closeout.

About the Role

The Site Superintendent is NDura's primary field leader, responsible for keeping construction organized, protected, productive, and aligned with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and company standards.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and inspectors to coordinate upcoming work, address issues, and maintain accurate project information in JobTread.

Success requires strong residential construction knowledge, confident leadership, practical problem-solving, and consistent follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership and Execution

- Direct and supervise on-site construction activities from mobilization through completion
- Take ownership of daily field execution, sequencing, productivity, and site organization
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, inspectors, consultants, and internal team members
- Ensure trades understand their scope, schedule, quality expectations, and responsibilities
- Confirm required labour, materials, equipment, drawings, and information are available before work begins
- Maintain clean, organized, secure, and professionally managed construction sites
- Anticipate site requirements and address coordination issues before they affect progress
- Skilled with operation of construction tools and equipment

Scheduling and Coordination

- Execute field activities in accordance with the approved project schedule
- Maintain short-term look-ahead schedules for trades, deliveries, inspections, and milestones
- Monitor progress and identify schedule risks or delays
- Coordinate with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator regarding milestones, decisions, and site requirements
- Follow up with trades and suppliers to confirm commitments
- Recommend practical recovery plans when schedule or sequencing issues arise
- Coordinate site access, staging, equipment, waste removal, and site logistics
- Participate in project meetings and provide accurate field updates

Quality Control

- Ensure work complies with approved drawings, specifications, codes, manufacturer requirements, and NDura standards




- Review construction documents before each phase of work
- Inspect work regularly and identify deficiencies before they affect following trades
- Confirm materials and finishes meet approved requirements
- Document deficiencies and ensure corrective work is completed
- Hold subcontractors accountable for incomplete or non-compliant work
- Manage deficiency lists, walkthroughs, inspections, and closeout requirements

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making

- Identify and resolve field issues while protecting quality, schedule, and budget
- Review conflicts involving drawings, specifications, site conditions, and trade requirements
- Coordinate practical solutions with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Escalate design, cost, schedule, or scope issues to the Project Manager when required
- Make confident day-to-day field decisions within the authority of the role
- Prevent minor issues from becoming delays through proactive follow-up

Safety, Inspections, and Compliance

- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across construction sites
- Ensure subcontractors and site personnel comply with company and occupational health and safety requirements
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address unsafe conditions promptly
- Coordinate municipal, consultant, utility, and third-party inspections
- Confirm required permits, approvals, inspection reports, and documentation are current
- Ensure work complies with approved plans, codes, municipal requirements, and specifications
- Maintain site signage, access control, housekeeping, and emergency procedures
- Report incidents, hazards, failed inspections, and compliance concerns promptly

Reporting and Documentation

- Complete accurate daily construction logs in JobTread
- Track completed work, trade attendance, deliveries, inspections, delays, deficiencies, weather, and significant events
- Upload current photographs, notes, inspection results, and supporting documentation
- Provide clear and timely updates to the Project Manager
- Record schedule impacts, site instructions, trade concerns, and outstanding decisions
- Maintain organized project records from startup through closeout

Collaboration and Communication

- Work with the Project Manager and Project Coordinator to keep office and field activities aligned
- Communicate professionally with trades, suppliers, consultants, inspectors, clients, and neighbours
- Maintain clear expectations and accountability while creating a collaborative site environment
- Participate in construction meetings, planning discussions, and schedule reviews
- Provide timely and accurate field information to the office team




- Build productive relationships with reliable trades and suppliers
- Represent NDura professionally on every project site

What You Bring

- At least five years of progressive residential construction experience
- Previous experience as a Site Superintendent, Construction Superintendent, Site Supervisor, or senior residential field leader
- Experience managing residential projects through the full construction lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of residential infill, multi-family, townhouse, or similar construction
- Proven ability to supervise subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, building systems, and site logistics
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil drawings
- Strong knowledge of quality control, building codes, inspections, and safety requirements
- Robust problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Confidence holding subcontractors accountable for schedule, safety, quality, and completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively across office and field teams
- Experience with JobTread, Buildertrend, Procore, or similar construction management software
- Confidence using smartphones, tablets, email, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based project systems
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence and reliable transportation
- Current First Aid certification is preferred
- A diploma, trade certification, or degree in a construction-related field is an asset but not essential with relevant experience
