Job Description

Assists the journeyman with materials, equipment and tools as required

Participates in installing wires and cables as directed by Journeyman

Participates as a trainee in the installation, maintenance and repair of wiring systems and other electrical fixtures and equipment

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve ability

Performs heavy manual labor requiring manual dexterity under varying weather conditions.

Learns the occupational hazards of the Electrician's trade and necessary safety precautions.

Performs assigned tasks with minimum of supervision

Follows all workplace safety guidelines as per Ring Electric Inc. policies. Training will be provided.

Produces Apprentice Handbook to be updated by Technical Training Manager as required.

Asks questions to ensure understanding of assigned tasks.

Attends and passes Electrical Apprentice courses at Algonquin College.

Responsible for the personal costs associated with hand tools, annual license fees, electrical classes and license exams.

Prepares for and passes the Provincial Red Seal exam.

Requirements

Able to work in small cramped spaces in a wide range of temperatures and humidity levels

Able to move heavy objects (50 pounds or more)



long distances (more than 20 feet)

Able to use common hand tools, such as hammers, saws, screwdrivers or similar tools

Ambition to make the electrical field their career

Demonstrates exceptional customer service and problem solving skills

Competent in computing technology such as Word, Email, Internet, Google, and Mac technology.

Exceptional Team Player

Quick learner and strives to be highly efficient and productive

Strong communicator and an active listener

Maintains a valid G license and Drivers abstract acceptable to insurance carrier and provides own vehicle

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $26.60-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
