Veterinary Assistant – [Assisting & Reception Duties]

Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care (restraint, exams, lab work, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring)
- Perform basic nursing tasks: collect vitals, feed and monitor hospital patients, prepare specimens for lab tests
- Provide front-desk support: greet clients, schedule appointments, answer phones, and handle check-in/check-out
- Maintain clean exam rooms, kennels, instruments, and general clinic areas
- Accurately dispense medications and update patient records under veterinary supervision
- Educate pet owners on aftercare, nutrition,
and medications as directed
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience as a veterinary assistant or technician in a clinical setting
- Excellent animal-handling skills and comfort with dogs, cats (and other small pets)
- Strong communication and customer service skills; professional and compassionate demeanor
- Able to multitask in a busy workplace and work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of veterinary software (e.g. Avimark) is a plus; willingness to learn new systems
- Flexible availability, including occasional evenings/weekends (schedule to be discussed)
Position: Full-time or part-time (discussed during interview)
