OVERVIEW
The Inventory Coordinator, under the direction of the Pharmacy Operations Manager, is responsible for overseeing medication inventory management at the Toronto East Health network (TEHN) Surgical Centre, an offsite location of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH).
The Coordinator is accountable for ensuring medication inventory is appropriately maintained, monitored, procured, received, and replenished to support safe and efficient patient care. This role works onsite at the Surgical Centre twice weekly and collaborate closely with the surgical team onsite as well as the MGH inpatient pharmacy department to meet the needs of the Surgical Centre patients, staff, and physicians.
The Coordinator may be assigned or requested to perform other duties consistent with the scope and classification of the position, as required.
EDUCATION
- Registered regulated healthcare professional with a degree or diploma in a relevant healthcare field (e.g. nursing, pharmacy) and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- Registration in good standing with relevant professional college/association.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years related experience within a healthcare setting.
- Recent experience with healthcare supply or medication inventory management.
- Recent experience working with multi-disciplinary hospital teams.
- Knowledge and familiarity with surgical procedures and medications, an asset.
- Ability to work independently.
- Solid attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task with proven organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work well with others in a collaborative and positive manner.
- Good work and attendance record required.
- Proficient PC skills required.
