Job Details:

Company: SKYLINE SCAFFOLD

Position: Rough Carpenter (Hoarding Carpenter for Scaffolding Projects)

Location: Lower Mainland area, with office at 960 Derwent Way, Delta, BC, V3M 5R1

Salary: $39.00 per hour, 40 hours per week

Overtime: As per BC Labour laws

Terms of Employment: Full-time

Start Date: As soon as possible

Education: Secondary (high) school

Experience:

· Minimum 2 to 3 years of skilled carpentry experience, with demonstrated hands-on experience specifically constructing protective hoarding, overhead gantry walkways, or heavy-duty sidewalk pedestrian protection structures on commercial/industrial scaffolding projects.

· Proven ability to read and interpret engineered scaffolding designs, structural blueprints, and local safety layout plans.

Responsibilities:

Engineering Compliance:

· Build and install heavy-duty, load-bearing protective canopies, wooden hoarding, and pedestrian walkway structures to exact engineer-stamped drawings and specifications.

· WorkSafeBC

· Erect plywood protection and timber framing around scaffolding towers in strict compliance with WorkSafeBC occupational health and safety regulations.

· Collaborate closely with scaffold erectors, project superintendents, and safety officers to modify,



secure, or reinforce temporary public walkways in active, high-traffic commercial zones.

· Interpret construction plans and drawings to design scaffold hoarding structures.

· Determine required materials and layout for projects.

· Assemble and install hoarding structures according to plans and safety regulations.

· Build and attach wooden frames, hoarding boards, and secure them to the scaffolding.

· Construct engineered scaffold structures and wooden scaffold structures.

· Ensure safety and security of hoarding for workers and the public.

· Regularly inspect hoarding structures for safety and security.

· Perform necessary repairs to comply with safety regulations.

· Proficiency with hand tools.

Required Certifications:

· Fall Protection / Fall Arrest Certification (Mandatory before starting work)

· Standard First Aid (Asset)

Security and Safety:

Bondable

Transportation/Travel Information: Travel to various sites

· Valid driver's license

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

· Bending, crouching, kneeling

· Handling heavy loads

· Physically demanding

· Own Tools/Equipment:

· Steel-toed safety boots

· Hard hat
