The Lloydminster Primary Care Network is recruiting for a part time Referral Coordinator to fill a maternity leave. The ideal candidate for this position will function as part of our dynamic, collaborative team to ensure patient referrals move through the system as efficiently as possible. This individual will work directly with family physician clinics in the processing and tracking of referrals, appointments and consults with medical specialists, and will facilitate effective and efficient patient access to specialists.

Duties and Skills:

- Work and communicate with other referral coordinators and the multi-disciplinary team at the Primary Care Network.
- Schedule and reschedule patients.
- Maintain confidential electronic medical records, e-mail and faxes.
- Complete referrals to specialists using designated software and other computer applications.
- Answer and direct phone calls in an efficient and qualified manner.
- Check voicemails.
- Process incoming faxes.
- Abide by privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Keep list of specialist current and change information as needed.
- Ability to function effectively and independently as a member of an inter-professional team.

Qualifications:





- Experience working as a medical office assistant in a medical clinic.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
- Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems and Alberta NetCare will be considered an asset.
- Completion of a Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent will be considered an asset.

The Lloydminster Primary Care Network offers competitive salary and benefits. Salary for this position will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s training and experience.
