Job Description
Elements Engineering strives to provide clients with services and products that are among the best in the industry. We specialize in consulting engineering, primarily in the transportation sector with offices strategically positioned around the GTA; Cambridge, Aurora (head office) and Kingston. We are looking for a Controller with industry experience to join our business and support us in our next phase of growth.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities related to legal entity reporting and consolidation reporting.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department (accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger).
- Manage the month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial statement preparation.
- Direct the end-to-end processing of multi-currency accounts receivables and payables and revaluation of financial statements.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information being recorded.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliation process.
- Serve as the lead liaison for external auditors, managing the annual audit process for all entities.
- Responsible for financial control processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with government filing and remittances including HST returns, US tax returns, corporate tax installments and payroll remittances.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance accounting workflows and processes across multiple companies.
- Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
- Support insurance renewals, financial disclosures, corporate registrations, and other administrative or compliance requirements that involve financial information.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in Finance/Accounting.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance,
Economics, or Mathematics with a CPA designation.
- Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to undertake research and translate complex information into useful insights.
- Prior experience implementing procedures and tools for consolidated financial reporting is ideal.
- Keen attention to detail and highly accurate work.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills to mentor and support the team.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and robust mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter who can multitask in an efficient and controlled manner with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Team Player - Possesses good interpersonal skills with ability to work well with others.

Pay: $110,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
